Lisa Baker began composing piano and keyboard music when she was a little girl, performing her compositions regularly at piano recitals growing up and winning 1st place in a Duluth, MN young composers contest when she was in the 6th grade. During her school years she continued composing, but also accompanied school and church choirs which led to regular church organist and accompanist jobs during high school and college.
Lisa studied Psychology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and Music/Organ Performance at University of Wisconsin-Superior, and has been serving as Organist and Accompanist at a church in the Minneapolis area since 2004.
In 2006, Lisa teamed up with her church’s Music Director and Pastor to create a new liturgy called “The New Hope Liturgy” which has been used during Sunday worship ever since. In 2008, Lisa and 2 other talented composers in the Minneapolis area released a sampler CD of their individual compositions titled “Trinitus.” (Learn more at their CDBaby page.) This Trinitus CD contains 15 compositions total including 5 written by Lisa.
For many years it has been a dream of Lisa’s to release a CD of her original piano and keyboard compositions. Thanks in part to Marshall and his great studio, her first CD “Believing is Seeing” was released in late 2013. She is currently working on various composition and recording projects.
Lisa lives in the Twin Cities area with her husband and 2 young kids.
